Back in California

If it wasn't so expensive I probably ought to have bought a house out here.

Back in Central Valley CA (Merced, Modesto, Fresno, Stockton). It's becoming all too familiar.

On my way out I tried something new... going public with my knitting. I have knit coasters, but Rose challenged me to go another step, "Kick it up a notch" (for all you Emeril fans). SOO I have been knitting me a hat. And quite fortunate, because the central valley has been quite cool this week. I figured if I finished it I could put it to use when I climb the antenna later in the trip. It's warming up, but hat is still good for night walking.

On my second flight I finally pulled out my knitting needles and went to work on it. No questions from anyone, but I could see my neighbor keep looking over. Finally, he put his newspaper down and asked me, "I've got to ask, how did you start into that?" My answer..."My wife".

I stayed up late last night to finish it.... and if I was able to upload my camera phones pictures I'd be showing you a picture right now, but ya'll will have to wait.

Good for you! My friend, Eric, has just started knitting on the train as he commutes back and forth to work everyday. It took him a long time to 'go public'. His wife doesn't knit....he just is a natural and loves it.
