Soon to leave

Getting everything ready as I am the official optimizer this trip! I'm ready to go and my boss wants to come along to learn from me. yikes.
I've done enough of these now that things are starting to sink in and become second nature. As long as I keep looking back at the manual I shouldn't leave anything out, but otherwise I'm ready to go.

For today Tribond is:
song
singer
po

(I had trouble with this one. it took three callers to have a winner)

By the way. Jamie and Cian are now using chairs to climb up on tables/counters! So no more chairs out that they can use to get up to places! Tricksy little kidses

Several things

One
Last night Jamie had a bloody nose.  I found out by listening to her..."Daddy...nose...hurt".  I turned around to look and her face was entirely covered in blood as well as the hand she was wiping it with.  I was going to post a picture of Carrie to show you what it looked like, but Carrie's eyes are too freakish and don't do Jamie credit, and besides that Jamie's face was TOTALLY red not just a drip here and there.  So anyway... my instinct was to pinch the nose .... that's what the baby book says too.
that's a bunch of *$%*.  Jamie wanted nothing to do with someone holding her nose.  So..next step.  Get an old t-shirt and give her a hug.  It stopped eventually and it was a whole lot faster to heal when she wasn't screaming (she really didn't want her nose held or wiped...other than with her own hand).

Two
Mustang is a fun town to live in.  Another thing I thought I'd mention is the ease of shopping for vehicles.  you know it's for sale when it's parked near the road/on the lawn/in a parking lot with 'For Sale' in the window.  You can cruise up and down main street and see what's on the market.  You don't even have to pick up a paper!!!  Talk about convenience!

Three
The radio show I wake up to everyday has a game called Tribond.   they give you three words and you give them one word to tie all the words together.   an example:
dog
shot
red
answer=hot      hot dog   hotshot   and red hot

So here are two that have come up recently
1
Julie Newmar
Michelle Pfeiffer
Eartha Kitt

2
stop
driver
boy

I'll give the answers in the comments later

some fun to start off the day

Was readings Rose's blog and thought I'd make me on a really good day.

Rose and I watched Wargames last night.  Gotta love the computers, esp the flashing lights on the WOPR.  aawww yeah

Musings

I have been wearing kids in a sling and dancing with them for some time.   First with DDR. and Now with Space Channel 5.   The kids both have started saying Chu (shoot in Japanese) and Hey as well as directions.. Left Right Down Up.
So the kids are repeating video games now.  I've also managed to get Jamie to say "ARrrrr" just like a pirate.... complete with arm swing (Captain Feathersword has a big contribution).  Now have have  to work on "ya Scurvy Skalliwags!"

Got my orders

Next place I'm visiting is Springfield MO. Right near Branson. I'd like to see Silver Dollar City again, but when the kids are older they would get more from it. Still have a couple of weeks before I leave out. Most likely will visit Bass Pro Shop. Some live animals, but unlike the zoo...it's free! (as long as you can stop yourself from buying anything)

They also tell me that they want me to run the optimization this time! Time to run the show! Yea, I'm a little nervous, but I've been through the training and had lots of hands on time. It's just that transition of being the humble server to calling the shots. Yikes. I'll have help if I need it, but I'd really like to push myself and see what I can do.

I amaze myself at the things I know that I didn't think I knew when the training wheels go off.

Bring it

We're BACK

We've actually been back since late last week. Finally deciding to update.

Lincoln was good. The drive was shorter than we thought. Didn't get to go IN the zoo or capital building, but we drove by them. Not a lot of extra time. We were able to see Rose's friend Brenda in Battle Creek (where no battle took place). Rose was also able to visit someone in Sioux Falls.

Funny thing happened this morning... After I grabbed 'my' glasses I noticed everything was out of whack. I was sure my glasses must have been bent. So as I plotted on how to bend them back I took a second look. They weren't my glasses at all! sigh of relief.
