Outings

I can't help but think I'm not doing enough for our kids. As days go by I want to do more and more trips. daytrips to park ...hiking trips...trails.. lakes.. state parks.
I cope by saying 'oh my kids are too young'... but are they? I know they can't climb a mountain ..and I don't expect them to hike several miles...let alone all the way across the apartment complex. But I can't help want to get out more.

I've become weak. I am babied by air conditioning. Rather than dress appropriately I just close the door and crank up the A/C. Take the car to places I could easily walk. It's no wonder that the other day after I ran across the complex to deliver something my calfs hurt from running on my toes. I haven't run in......a long time.

On another note. Someone we know in Mustang happens to be in the Mustang HS marching band. I always remember their shows being pretty good. They happen to be having a parent night tonight.. so I hope we can make it around 7. We'll see what the kids think of a big marching band.

Video Gaming and book reading

Rented HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It's an alright game to get some more book insight. I'm sure the order is out of synch and I really doubt the teachers send Harry, Ron, and Hermione into large mazelike dungeons to retrieve spellbooks of the new spell they will learn. And some of the retrieval quests get monotonous.... (run all the way across the map and back to get some house points so you stay ahead. But I like it. The changing character option (actually a requirment) is an added bonus from the last game in the series.

while I play Rose has been watching. She's also reading a book... Under the Tuscan Sun. Usually She'll finish a book in about a day and a half. This one, however, has taken her 4 days!.... and she's only half way through! I think this will be a book I must see the movie. If it's taken Rose 4 days to get to half way..... I'll have retirement money before I finish!

Back in my element... sort of

Our radar site is now far along that it feels like my travel work environment. Coming across problems that aren't all documented. And all hands on! The technical journals somehow become easier to read. A welcome change from placing orders!
Still no news on climbing class.

A wonderful Friday ..so far

We've been having lots of rain this week, but last night it dumped on us. Just looked outside saw a blanket of clouds cover the sky in less than a minute... then whammo! It was pouring. Cian loved it.

Got some Tribond for you all. I never am good at it. I know if I call in I'd be one of the people that get through their life story with the DJs and then fail miserably at the game.
1) top

pipe

2) big

In the future weeks I am looking forward to our very own radar being completed. Soon we can play all we want! That and I've hoping they have a spot in an upcoming fall training class (learn climbing safety and climb a radar tower...awww yeah...I mean.. I think it would very educational).

We'll see how things go

They're back and some Disney talk

Last night I finished reading the first book to the Harry Potter series. I had been listening to it on CD on my drive to and from work. Last night I was so close to finishing I went ahead and read, yes actually READ, the last couple of chapters. For any of you who haven't read the book I recommend it, for HP fans of course, because it has a lot more character development than the movie. You learn a lot more history and get all the other tidbits left out of the movie. Now I need to start talking about it on Rose's new board!

So I finished HP and was like...great now what do I listen to Jack and Ron are out, but it just so happened today was the day they are back! woohoo!

So Tribond is:
beat
stick
line

I also found out that they are going to offer Hillary Duff concert tickets and backstage passes. Along with music you may know her as a Disney star.

Which speaking of Disney I thought I'd share some of their recent releases that I don't have the money for at the moment. From the 50s Darby O'Gill and the Little People. Then some 70s ones: Freaky Friday, Candleshoe, The Black Hole, and The Watcher in the Woods.

Disney has been on a spree of releasing their old stuff on DVD. Which I am perfectly happy with. These are all the shows that the Disney channel used to show among others. It seems like they(Disney) seems to be losing a lot of what they were. There are plenty DVDs they are releasing which lack extras. And I found this photoessay on Tomorrow Land that made me disappointed. I suppose they have to move on, but I would think they'd like to embrace some of what got them their! oh well

This should a been two posts..doh

To watch for

I've been watching some of the Olympics. And I've found two commercials I like.

One has a weightlifter whose weight goes through the floor and lands on a guys car. the look on that guys face as the elevator closes is great! Allstate commercial.

The other is the one where these girls are printing out pictures of bikers with angry faces..and scared. They say I wonder how she got these shots. Then flash to the mother standing in the middle of the road with camera as bikers desperately try to not crash into her! (don't have a link about that one...)... forgot what they were advertising.

After watching some gymnastics the kids are now doing somersaults. And Cian was doing some wild arm flailing..dance sort of thing after watching the balancing beam routine.

oh groan

We watched 'the Juror' a few nights ago. Predictable. Rose I'm sure hates that I was talking about the movie while watching it. I felt the ending had some "Three Amigos" in it. Everyone with a gun and a mask. popping up every where. And of course Demi Moore had to fire the last..5? shots. Definitely had the Tomb raider part there.

There is a lot more I could write...but I won't right now

Back so soon

Finally made it back from Springfield. It was a good trip. One of the nicest radar sites I've been too. Very clean and lots of room. And everything worked!

The kids seem extra happy to be home. They had been going to bed around 9 or 10 now that they are back home it's back to 1 or 2. Maybe it's all the trips to laundry facility over there that wore them down. I need to start a hiking regiment to tire the kids out. It was nice at the hotel because there wasn't much they could get into.

The nature conservation center was a real winner with the kids. couldn't keep them out of the kids area with all the puppets and log to crawl through and velcro animals to stick on felt wall. When I finally got the kids outside Jamie was up for the walk. While cian..if I let him walk... added to a collection of twigs every step or two. I had to carry him in order to keep up with Jamie. the speed slowed to a halt when we got to the pond. They wouldn't stop throwing leaves in the water and looking at the frogs. they were even too distracted by the water to see the deer that came up for a drink.

Well as for Tribond I missed it this morning. Thought I owed it to my co-workers and family to shave and shower. I do have bad news on this end of Tribond. There may be another delay as the DJs are taking vacation from tomorrow until next Wednesday!!

And in case you didn't know the Olympics start Friday. (reminder to me)
