Bring it on

Have started some new reading. I've started reading "Ozma of Oz". The third book Frank L. Baum wrote in the Oz series. Like the link says... this book and the one before it (The Marvelous Land of Oz) were blended together by Disney for The Return to Oz in 1985.

Work is starting to get busy with 10 people gone to Syracuse for training. going to be some busy days Mon and Tues. Rose heads out Wed for CKU. Then off to hang with Grandma and Grandpapa and do lots of swimming while avoiding getting sunburned.

Done

Finished Book 6 in the Harry Potter canon. Liked it. And now like so many other people in the world I wait for the next book to answer my questions: regarding... (trying to word in way that is not spoiling...)

1. Motivation behind actions of characters... one in particular
2. Whose initials are those?
3. What the heck happens next?!

Among other things.

OH... and I would recommend watching the Batman movie with Adam and Burt's commentary.

She made it Back!

Rose made it back from her Harry Potter sojourn. Now I'm going to have to read the book to see why she has that look 'that all good has left this world'.

Cian wouldn't leave her side when she got in. He would find her lap and they had a sing along session that he greatly appreciated.

In honor of the HP release I have brought with me a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean's to work with me. We'll see how many beans (and which flavors) are left at the end of the day.

And on a different note... if you are a GoogleEarth user... check out the Grand Canyon with the terrain selected. You get 3D contoured image with the aerial photos overlaid! Cool!

Til next time

Holding down the fort

Rose is having a girls weekend out. Thanks to the new Harry Potter book coming out she and some friends were getting together and going to a release party.

In the process the kids and I have been baking in the heat. so far fixed up our second car which had been parked for a couple of months now...it still runs!!

And have been playing with a new Playdough set that has a press to make baby animals (which Jamie refused to squash into the bucket when it was time to stop). I let her go to sleep with it, and by the time I got to it away from her it definitely wasn't a giraffe anymore.

Thanks to a coworker I am now a GEo-junky. A little thing called earth.google.com I've been finding places I've stayed or visited. I was able to trace the path I used to bike when staying with my parents over in Vizzolo Predabissi. I'm surprised I went that far!

Anyway... going good so far. A few requests for 'needing their mommy', but they stop pretty fast after I let them gorge on chocolate and then run around the house painting with it!!! *snicker*

Reading material!!

Woohoo, after we got a lot of mail (see Rose's tallies) I now have plenty of reading material!! National Geo/ Nat Geo Traveler, Smithsonian, and of course.... video game magazines!! That should keep me busy the rest of the month.

Here's something about James McKenna whom I read an interview about...but I can't find a link to the interview... When I find the actual interview I'll post it.

We're Back!!

Made it in Saturday evening. Even though it was the second of July, but our city already felt like the fourth of July.

People were out in their lawn chairs shooting off fireworks. So blasts are going off in the air. Roman candles across the ground and sparklers and all. Wonder what the fourth will bring here in Mustang.

I've also reached a conclusion and feel I should pass on what I have learned. If you don't like messing with feces you should not: 1) Have kids, or 2) own cats.

I had my fill of changing diapers... wiping off kids legs and backs and throwing dirty clothes into baggies to be washed later. Then I got home and proceeded to clean up poop on the floor and change cat litter.

On a happier note Rose had found a link that I like from another blog she frequents. A link to an amusing music video by someone who enjoys performing in front of a webcam
