HAlloween means CANDY

Whatever Halloween used to mean it doesn't seem to mean that anymore.

Our crew has had 2 trick or treat episodes so far.

The first was the Haunt the Zoo event. None of these pictures are us. We didn't stop for the photographers. Here is one of Jamie! Jamie did great! dressed as Cinderella she went around identifying all the other disney princesses and collecting candy as she walked. Cian was a lot of fun. He refused to put on his cape... didn't want to walk... at all. The first candy we got was an unwieldy 'decorate your own pumpkin Peep kit'. Cian held the Peep kit while I held the candy bag. Cian and I traveled through the crowded zoo collecting candy as we went. Finally at the end of it all he informed me that the candy bag was his and demanded to hold it! Hey, I carried it the whole way... thanks a lot Cian! ;)

Note to self..or whom it may concern, but the advance tickets would have been a good idea for that zoo event! that and maybe going Thursday.... maybe it wouldn't be so crowded. And crowded it was on Saturday!! We waited in line for a ticket...20min waited in line to get in..20min...waited to go through at spots. zoo parking lot filled / Omniplex parking lot filled / even the racetrack parking lot across the street (where we parked) was close to being filled!

Our second adventure was a lot more relaxed. Before Jamie's dance class we visited with our friends from Guthrie and went trick or treating in downtown Guthrie. good idea! (yes this link has some pictures from last years event) Crowded.. but not near as crowded as the zoo. And it was FREE! All the shop keepers stood/sat near the front door and would greet tricksters.
cian even walked to some of them ..by himself!

some day cian will dress up like Jamie and get candy on his own, but I'm glad to be needed.

New favorite show

I've only seen two episodes so far, but I like this show. It's more like what I envisioned Survivor to be.

Survivorman puts Les Stroud in the middle of some wilderness area and he documents how he survives for 7 days.

I could continue telling you about it but the webpage would do a better job.

So far I've seen desert and swamp survival. Pretty fun to watch. Maybe I ought to try a grasshopper-kabob....

Okielahoma

I was showing a coworker the photo of the early Christmas in Yukon (a nearby town). Christmas already geez.

Then I pointed out the park where this was has a trail shaped like a boot. But you have to have an airplane to see it. OR Google Earth (or maps).

My coworker pointed out something I had never noticed... the parking lot looks a lot like the state of Oklahoma! I mentioned it to Rose, and after getting many groans I got even more when I refered to it as the 'Hokie Okie Park'

:D

Makes me want to see if I can find other parks in other cities that have similar shape things that you may only be savvy to if you are flying.
Anyone know of others?

Be Careful what you say!

The stores are stretching the holiday season as much as they can. One can now buy "Halloween Egg Nog" at Wally World!!!

Being the addict I am I twisted Rose's arm to buy me some :D

And rather than hoarding it I offered Cian some to drink. As a selling point I called it "Ghost Drink" (it had a picture of ghosts on it..I don't make this up). So now he's sold on it and keeps asking me for 'ghost drink'.

As to the title of this post... now when I try to tell him the correct name or even call it 'ghost egg nog'. I get....."NO ... It Ghost Drink! hmmph"
