Happy Birthday Cian! and some catchup

First of all I'd like to say happy birthday to Cian again. He was lounging around this morning... had to remind him of the day! Rose posted some good pics HERE He couldn't decide what to do first... eat cupcake / play with dinosaur set / play new video game. Finally got him through it. Might play some Lego Star Wars with him tonight... good co-op game.

I thought I'd also post some San Fransisco pics.. as I already have some Yosemite pics from my most recent trip back to California.

First, a sign that was on the train into town.

Made me wish I had something to do... book, ipod, or even knitting. Of course I wouldn't know what to do with any of it when I got in town... I had no extra pockets.

Next is some proof of me accomplishing my mission.

And my mode of transportation back to train station after I found walking 4 miles of hilly San Fransisco would take too much time.

And finally a sign that Frontier airlines seems to have a whole series of.... "Hector's two pesos". You can't read it well, but it says: "Hector's two pesos Spanish is not just English with an "O" at the end." Then it goes on to talk about how it would be easy to learn spanish if you spent some time in spanish speaking countries.... then mentions that if you flew with Frontier you could travel down there with no 'problemo'!

And now for something... a little different

Well today I did well to conserve money. I had originally wanted to drive to Yosemite (80 miles away), but the radar decided to act up just as I was going to call it good. Ending up being telco... it feels good when you can identify the problem. SO... leftovers from yesterday (thank goodness for in-room fridges), pop from vending, <$2 of bread and cookies from a panateria (great bargain... and managed to find the mango filled bread with no labels!!).

And so I feel the need now to post some interesting films I came across yesterday. I haven't looked up too much about them but they are from a Japanese kids show called Pythagoras Switch

Back again?

Well ... I am back in California. I said I would post San Fran pics.... still to come, but now I find myself back in California before even posting about my last trip!

The flight was better this time... Frontier airlines through Denver. Cozy. Last flight crew a little laid back. "And in the event that our flight becomes a cruise your seat can be used as a flotation device, just lift it up, check for loose coins and...."

Staying in Merced. Drove by this ... Merced Theater. The hotel could be a lot better. I picked it cause it looked like it had indoor... rather than the outdoor room access, but no. Open air hallways as well as right next to freeway (99 is truck traffic all the time). More hotels to come in Merced, but slim pickings as of now.
